The study profiles an ageing cohort and identifies serum-protein signatures associated with lifestyle factors and menopause hormone-replacement therapy. The findings show how population-scale proteomics can disentangle treatment, lifestyle and ageing effects, helping distinguish disease-relevant signals from other sources of biological variation in biomarker discovery.
