Eliptica completes measurement of 50,000 UK Biobank plasma proteomes

Eliptica today announced that it has completed the measurement of 50,000 plasma proteomes from UK Biobank, a major milestone in the company’s mission to translate population-scale blood proteomics into future tests for earlier disease detection.

The dataset represents one of the largest mass-spectrometry-based plasma proteomics efforts of its kind. By linking deep molecular measurements from blood with longitudinal health data, Eliptica aims to identify early disease-associated signals that may support future blood-based tests for earlier detection, risk stratification, monitoring and prevention.

Eliptica’s platform combines high-throughput plasma proteomics, advanced mass spectrometry and AI models designed to learn reusable representations of human plasma biology. The completion of this milestone provides a foundation for discovering molecular patterns associated with future disease outcomes across large, diverse populations.

The milestone also strengthens Eliptica’s work towards building AI models of the human plasma proteome. These models are designed to learn from billions of mass-spectrometry signals and identify disease-associated patterns that may not be visible in smaller studies.

Eliptica will use the dataset to support discovery and validation of proteomic signatures linked to early disease biology, with a focus on future clinical applications in earlier detection, risk stratification and preventive health.
